- A unique first ever off-site field trip to Discovery World on Lake Michigan. Guest speakers have been selected exclusively for World Affairs Seminar and will include Great Lakes Water Institute scientists addressing the global water crisis with additional interactive stations and presentations from the Department of Natural Resources, Coast Guard, and Metropolitan Milwaukee Sewer District that include: invasive species, urbanization and water challenges, pollution control, and the Great Lakes ecosystem. - John Kouba of Hard Hat Industries will address international water treatment issues and innovation. John has extensive experience in Argentina, Belgium, China, Costa Rica, England, Haiti, Mexico, Mongolia, The Netherlands, and Nicaragua. He is currently working on World Bank water supply project to poor residential districts in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia and Asian Development Bank wastewater collection and treatment project in Hefei, China.
- Peter Annin, former Newsweek correspondent and author of The Great Lakes Water Wars, and associate director of the Institutes for Journalism and Natural Resources. His address will focus on global water conflict.
- Ray Klinginsmith, will address Rotary International’s water initiatives.
- Geneva Johnson, guest lecturer and author, will address ethical leadership.
