Students who have completed their sophomore, junior, or senior year (grades 10, 11, 12) prior to the Seminar are encouraged to apply. Participants are typically selected and sponsored by their schools, local service clubs and community groups, or may apply individually. Exchange students in U.S. or Canadian high schools are especially encouraged to apply.

Additionally, Seminar participants:

• Have an interest in global issues
• Wish to build their “resume” for college applications
• Want to make an impact on the world
• Are in good standing academically
• Are open to new ideas
• Are respectful of others
• Are willing to explore different viewpoints
