Brock is back!

The Dale Brock Scholarship Fund, our flagship Fund for assisting worthy students to participate in World Affairs Seminar, is back in operation. The Brock Fund, created in Dale’s memory after his passing, makes it possible for high-school students who otherwise cannot secure a sponsor, to attend WAS. “My Dad was determined that every student who wanted to experience WAS could do so without a financial barrier,” said Rob Brock. “I was fortunate to be a student delegate – and volunteer –at the very first World Affairs Seminar in 1977, so I know firsthand the impact WAS has made on its alumni.” Rob, one of 30,000 WAS alumni since its inception, invites one and all to join him in replenishing his late father’s Scholarship Fund.

For another excellent option, please use the same method to make a gift to the Tom Plantenberg Scholarship Fund, established last year in the name of our immediate past Executive Director, the late Tom Plantenberg. The Fund’s goal mirrors that of the Brock Fund: enable students to better advance peace through understanding by becoming WAS delegates. “The Plantenberg Fund honors the memory of a great leader and close friend,” said Cary Silverstein, who spurred the Fund’s creation through a gift made with his wife Susan. “We encourage others who knew Tom, and who cherish his legacy, to make a contribution to the Tom Plantenberg Scholarship Fund.”
