The World Affairs Seminar was recognized last week by the Kiwanis Club of Milwaukee with the Kiwanis Hall of Fame Award. This award is given to an organization that “clearly demonstrates its commitment to the long term betterment of the Milwaukee Community, enhancing the lives of its citizens, visitors, and guests.”

Thomas Plantenberg, Executive Director of the World Affairs Seminar, was privileged to receive the award, joined by board chair Joe Caruso, District Governor Jeff Reed, WAS Academic Dean Dr. Michael Carrier, WAS Administrator Barb Eder, PDG Rick Luedke, and Tom’s wife Diane, among others.

The Kiwanis Club of Milwaukee noted that World Affairs Seminar “[helps] youth in our community learn life skills, responsibility, and the importance of working with others, among other valuable lessons.”

Mr. Plantenberg included in his acceptance speech that this award signifies a new era of collaboration and cooperation among Service Clubs.
